Week Nine: AT Georgia Tech

Delahanty:

Oh yay, we get to go to Georgia Tech after they came into Chapel Hill a season ago and beat us…

This is a revenge game for the Tar Heels, as last season’s loss should be plenty of motivation for this year’s team. I expect a big game from not only Drake Maye but from Nate McCollum as well, as the wide receiver transfer will look to beat his former squad.

Prediction: North Carolina 42, Georgia Tech 28 (Record: 5-3)

Falls:

Another place that UNC football has struggled to perform well and win… Atlanta, Georgia. The Tar Heels are 2-10 since 1999 in Atlanta against the Yellow Jackets. One of those wins was the largest comeback in school history in 2015 when the Tar Heels came back from 21-0 to beat Georgia Tech 38-31. It seems that the UNC football program always loses a game they have no business losing. It happened twice last year against Georgia Tech and NC State. I don’t see Maye letting that happen again this year and with Yellow Jacket transfer Nate McCollum at wide receiver, the Tar Heels come out of October sitting at 6-2.

Prediction: North Carolina 41, Georgia Tech 24 (Record: 6-2)

Ebersbach:

After last season’s very disappointing loss, North Carolina will look to have a revenge game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The Yellow Jackets have regressed since last season, but they are a team that the Tar Heels have struggled with. North Carolina is currently on a two-game losing streak and has lost four of the last five against Georgia Tech. North Carolina will win this game, but I believe it will be a low-scoring shoot-out.

Prediction: North Carolina 23, Georgia Tech- 17 (Record: 7-1)
