Week Seven: Miami

Delahanty:

I have a bad feeling about this game.

Honestly, I wish I could tell you why, given that my mind is telling me that the Tar Heels should take care of business in this one. However, my gut is telling me that this is going to be another letdown game for the UNC football program, pushing them to 3-3 on the season and putting them in serious danger of not making the ACC title game.

I hope I’m wrong, but I feel like Miami is going to stun the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill.

Prediction: Miami 27, North Carolina 24 (Record: 3-3)

Falls:

This is the game that I would label as the biggest game of the home schedule. In the past, this would’ve been the game we said would determine the Coastal division. As previously mentioned, divisions are no more, but this is still a huge game. Miami is projected to finish fifth in the ACC but has plenty of potential with returning QB Tyler Van Dyke. Yet to be announced, but this could be a Kenan night game on the same weekend as Live Action (the basketball program’s opening practice) which could bring a sold-out crowd and provide a great atmosphere. We get another instant classic between the Canes and Heels in Chapel Hill, Maye turns in his first “Heisman Moment” and leads Carolina on a game-winning drive.

Prediction: North Carolina 34, Miami 28 (Record: 4-2)

Ebersbach:

It is no surprise that Miami is one of the most disappointing football teams in the ACC currently. Last season the Tar Heels narrowly walked away with a 27-24 win in Coral Gables. This game should be another breeze for the Tar Heels, but I have a feeling that this game will be closer than it should be.

Prediction: North Carolina 33, Miami 30 (Record: 5-1)
