The UNC football program has added another wide receiver prospect to its 2024 recruiting class, as Javarius Green has committed to North Carolina.

Just hours before his senior season of high school gets underway, Javarius Green announced where his future college home will be.

The three-star wide receiver prospect announced his commitment to Mack Brown and the UNC football program. He chose the Tar Heels over Alabama and Michigan State, his other two finalists.

Green, the son of former NFL standout Willie Green, is ranked as the No. 92 overall wide receiver in his graduating class (according to 247Sports Composite). He is also viewed as the No. 23 overall prospect coming out of the state of North Carolina.

As a student-athlete who didn’t focus on football until his sophomore year of high school, Green has plenty of room to grow. During his junior season on the gridiron, Green hauled in 61 passes for 1,267 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns while recording 240 kick return yards and 251 punt return yards.

It’s also important to note that Green is a multi-sport athlete, as he plans to compete for both the UNC football and UNC baseball programs once his college career begins.

The Tar Heels have done a nice job of adding wide receiver depth within this class, as Green becomes the fourth wideout to join the program. He joins four-stars Jordan Shipp and Alex Taylor, as well as high-three-star Kenan Jackson (all of who are in-state products as well) as players making their way to Chapel Hill next summer.

Green’s commitment also solidifies that the UNC football program will have a top-25 recruiting class for this given cycle. They’ve added some key pieces that have the potential to make major impacts on the program over the next few seasons.
