Mack Brown and the UNC football program are looking to add a boost to its secondary by extending an offer to this four-star prospect.

On social media, four-star cornerback prospect Shamari Earls announced that he has received an official offer from Mack Brown and the UNC football program.

Earls, a Chester, Virginia native from the Class of 2025, is currently viewed by 247Sports as the No. 4 overall player from his home state. In addition, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback ranks as the No. 11 player at his position within his graduating class.

It’s still very early in the process for the Class of 2025, as most programs are still looking to wrap up their 2024 recruiting classes. This is the deal for the UNC football program, as they only have one current commitment as part of their 2025 class.

Even though things haven’t picked up yet, Mack Brown and company have been identifying their top targets among this graduating class. Earls is one of them, as he becomes the third cornerback prospect that the UNC football program has extended an offer to.

During the 2022 season, Earls was a two-way standout for Thomas Dale High School. As a wide receiver, Earls hauled in 10 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns while making 32 tackles, intercepting two passes, and breaking up six additional passes in the defensive secondary.

In addition to competing on the football field, Earls also participates in track, as he ran the 55-meter event in 6.52 seconds and had a long jump of 20-9.25 during the winter season.

As he heads into his junior season of high school, Shamari Earls will be a name to keep an eye out for as the UNC football program looks to add talent to its 2025 recruiting class.
