UNC Basketball schedules big-time home & home matchup
Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program have scheduled a home & home series with one of the country’s top college basketball teams.
There are plenty of connections between the UNC basketball program and Kansas, including legendary head coaches Dean Smith (who played college basketball at Kansas) and Roy Williams (who led both programs to a combined 9 Final Fours).
Starting next season, the two programs will start to create more history with each other as they’ll be competing in a big-time home & home series.
The UNC basketball program announced via social media that they have scheduled a home & home series with the Kansas Jayhawks. This series will take place during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.
For just the second time ever (and the first time since 1960!), the Tar Heels will travel to Lawrence, Kansas for the first matchup of this home & home series.
During the 2025-2026 season, the Jayhawks will play in Chapel Hill for the first time ever.
This is a major college basketball announcement, as two of the most historic teams the sport has to offer will take part in this two-game series. UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis, rightly so, is very excited about this opportunity for his team.
"“These two games should be exciting for players and coaches on both teams and a win for fans of college basketball. It’s an opportunity for two great programs to play in each other’s home arenas, which are among the best and most historic in our game.”"
Although the 2023-2024 season hasn’t started yet, these are two future games that UNC basketball fans will definitely want to circle on their calendars.
