West Coast Conference

UNC basketball fans remember well the last time the Tar Heels took home the national championship trophy, as they defeated West Coast Conference powerhouse Gonzaga to complete their redemption tour.

As for the rest of the WCC, the Tar Heels have been rather unfamiliar with this conference in NCAA Tournament play. Here’s who the UNC basketball program has yet to face:

BYU
Pacific
Pepperdine
Portland
San Diego
Santa Clara
St. Marys

If you’re looking for potential matchups for the UNC basketball program among this list, look no further than St. Mary’s and Santa Clara.

Both programs have been knocking on the door a bit, as they may end up being the likeliest programs (not named Gonzaga) to see the Tar Heels come March.

Now that we talked about some of the lower-level conferences around, let’s get into the big dogs, as the Tar Heels have had plenty of battles with these three conferences.
