Over the illustrious history of the UNC basketball program, here are the teams that the Tar Heels never competed against on the court.

The UNC basketball program has plenty of NCAA Tournament experience, as the Tar Heels have a 91-28 record in March Madness play.

Of course, UNC basketball fans can easily point out some of the team’s fondest NCAA Tournament moments, including each (and every) national championship victory, the program’s most clutch shots (do Michael Jordan, Luke Maye, and Caleb Love ring a bell?!) as well as other big-time victories over some of the school’s biggest rivals (cough, Duke in the Final Four).

Even though their NCAA Tournament resume is extensive, there are still plenty of programs that the Tar Heels haven’t matched up against thus far. Some of the programs on the list may even surprise you!

Let’s take a look at some of the most notable conferences in NCAA Division I, starting with the one that has faced the Tar Heels the least in NCAA Tournament play.
