The former UNC basketball player made the most of his NBA Summer League opportunity with the Cleveland Cavaliers organization.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, former UNC basketball player Pete Nance signed to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League squad.

A few weeks later, Nance and the Cavaliers are Summer League Champions.

The Cavaliers secured the title with a dominant 99-78 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday night. With the win, Cleveland finished summer league action with a perfect 6-0 record.

Nance, who has been used in a reserve role, did a little bit of everything in the title game. Although he only scored two points, the former UNC basketball big man filled up the stat sheet, recording four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

The son of NBA legend Larry Nance, Pete Nance saw plenty of action with the Cavaliers this summer. Even though Cleveland’s roster featured some very notable talents, Nance saw anywhere from 17 to 27 minutes per game, as he showed off the variety of skills that he possesses.

Like the other UNC basketball players who competed at the 2023 NBA Summer League, this was a great opportunity for Nance. The hope is that his play this summer will earn him an opportunity on an NBA roster this fall.
