Believe it or not, UNC football has never played these FBS teams

UNC Football vs. Mountain West Conference

The Mountain West Conference is very unfamiliar territory for the UNC Football program, as they have only matched up with two of the conference’s 12 teams.

North Carolina has defeated San Diego State in both matchups but has struggled mightily against Air Force. You have to go back a long way to see the last time these two programs met (1969), but the Tar Heels 1-4 record against them is still relevant.

The following schools are the ones that the UNC football program has yet to compete against:

Boise State
Colorado State
Fresno State
Hawai’i
Nevada
New Mexico
San Jose State
UNLV
Utah State
Wyoming

It’s time to ask the question: why hasn’t the UNC football program traveled to Boise State to play on the blue turf yet?!

The Broncos have had some competitive teams over the years, so it would be a very good opponent to put on the schedule. Additionally, playing on that turf, which is one of the coolest things that college football has to offer, is enticing in itself.
