The former UNC basketball standout is on the move, as he’s part of a three-team deal that lands him with the San Antonio Spurs.

The NBA offseason, where anything can happen!

Just days after having his contract for the 2023-2024 season guaranteed, former UNC basketball standout Reggie Bullock has been traded by the Dallas Mavericks. The 32-year-old is heading to the San Antonio Spurs as part of a three-team deal that will send Grant Williams from the Boston Celtics to Dallas.

Bullock and Williams are the only players involved in the deal, as various second-round picks are included. With the trade, San Antonio is set to become the seventh NBA team that the former Tar Heel will suit up for.

The Spurs are in the process of rebuilding, as they hope that No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama will help expedite that process. It’s unclear as to what the Spurs intentions are with Bullock, but he’s a player that could be very valuable to them both on and off the court.

With a young nucleus starting to shape, Bullock can be a valuable leader to teach the young guys how to be professionals. If the Spurs don’t want to keep him around, he’s an enticing trade piece (on an expiring contract) that could make sense for playoff-contending teams that are to looking to acquire a veteran shooter.

There’s still plenty of time before the NBA season gets underway, as more wheeling and dealing can be on the way.

For now, Reggie Bullock is a member of the San Antonio Spurs.
