The four-star in-state wide receiver has set a commitment date, as the UNC football program hopes to add another Class of 2024 standout.

Highly-touted in-state product, four-star wide receiver Jordan Shipp, has named his three finalists in his recruitment process.

After announcing his top eight back in February, Shipp has narrowed his recruitment down to the UNC football program, NC State and Michigan. The Charlotte, North Carolina native will make his official announcement on July 16.

Shipp, the No. 8-ranked player in the state of North Carolina (according to 247Sports), spent the weekend in Chapel Hill on an official visit. This might be good for Mack Brown and company, as they’ll have the last visit on his schedule, one that could sway his decision if it went well.

Before his visit, Shipp shared with Adam Friedman of Rivals what he was looking to see at North Carolina during his visit.

"“I want to see the stuff at North Carolina that I haven’t seen yet. I want to see their strength and conditioning program, their nutrition program, how they take care of their players, and how things work there when it comes to NIL. That’s not really a big factor in my decision but I want to compare it to how other schools help. Those are some of the things I want to see because I already know a lot about the offense and I’m cool with all the coaches. I love coach Brown and those guys.”"

According to his report, Friedman believes that it is a two-team race for Shipp. The Rivals National Recruiting Analyst thinks that Shipp’s decision will ultimately come down to Michigan and North Carolina.

With his decision looming in a few weeks, Shipp took to Twitter to comment on Zion Ferguson’s decision to flip his commitment to the UNC football program.

Mack Brown and the UNC football program have done a great job recruiting the Class of 2024, and hope that they can keep Jordan Shipp, one of the state’s top players, close to home.
