The UNC basketball commit put together a very strong performance for Team USA in the opener of the 2023 U19 FIBA World Cup.

What an impressive debut for Ian Jackson and Team USA in the 2023 U19 FIBA World Cup.

The UNC basketball commit put together a 17-point, three rebound, and three assist performance to help lead Team USA to a dominant victory over Madagascar.

Jackson and the United States were hardly challenged in their opening contest, as they outscored Madagascar by 67 points. It was a great way to kick off the tournament, but Team USA will look to stay on track as they are back on the court on Sunday afternoon.

Their next opponent will be Slovenia on June 25 at 2:00 PM EDT. Following an off day on Monday, Jackson and company will continue tournament play with an early 9:00 AM EDT tip-off against Lebanon.

This is an overall great experience for Jackson, as he competes against some of the best competition that the world has to offer. He’s continuing to show why the UNC basketball program heavily coveted him throughout his recruitment and gives Tar Heels fans flashes of what they can expect once he arrives on campus next summer.
