In the near future, we’ll know if another Class of 2024 prospect is on his way to join Mack Brown and the UNC football program.

The UNC football program is among the four finalists for four-star wide receiver Braylon Staley.

Along with the Tar Heels, Staley is still considering Clemson, Miami, and Tennessee. Mack Brown and North Carolina will have the “final pitch,” as Staley’s final decision is expected a few days after his official visit to Chapel Hill.

According to On3’s Jeremy Johnson, Staley is expected to commit on June 30 at 4:00 PM. By that point, the four-star wideout will have taken official visits to all of his finalists, including the UNC football program.

Staley is expected on campus in Chapel Hill on June 23, a visit that could ultimately be the deciding factor in his recruitment. In Johnson’s report, he stated that Staley “feels he has his mind made up” but has a few things that he needs to get checked off being doing so. Johnson also goes on to say how North Carolina has been a strong contender throughout the process for Staley.

The UNC football program has done a solid job with the Class of 2024, as they already have 19 players committed up to this point. Adding a playmaker like Staley would be huge for the Tar Heels, as they’ll look to bring in one of the top wide receiver prospects available.
