Even though Jarin Stevenson was expected to make a decision already, the UNC basketball program will have to wait a little longer for his decision.

Over the weekend, fans of the UNC basketball program awaited Jarin Stevenson’s commitment decision, as it was expected that the Pittsboro, North Carolina native was ready to make his announcement.

The only announcement that we did get recently was him trimming his recruitment down to three schools: Alabama, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Now, it looks like we’ll have to wait just a bit longer to find out where Stevenson is heading.

Travis Branham of 247Sports spoke directly with Stevenson’s father, who stated that his son plans on announcing his college decision on Wednesday, June 21. All eyes will be on the 6-foot-10 forward’s decision, as it’s one that could impact a program either this season or next.

With reclassifying still an option, his decision will likely be impacted based on which class he’s planning on being a part of. If he moves up a year, Alabama has been seen as the projected favorite, but if he stays in the Class of 2024, the UNC basketball program appears to have a slight edge.

His recruitment has been rather quiet as of late, but that will change when it officially comes to a close on Wednesday.
