UNC basketball top scorer No. 8: Antawn Jamison (1995-1998)

  • Career Points: 1974
  • Points Per-Game: 19.0

If it wasn’t for him leaving school early for the NBA, Antawn Jamison would be much higher on this list.

In just three seasons, Jamison just missed the 2,000 career point scorers mark, as he became one of the most dominant players in college basketball.

When Jamison was with the Tar Heels, the program saw a ton of success. In both seasons that he was the team’s leading scorer, the UNC basketball program advanced to the Final Four.

His junior season was his overall best, as his 22.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game earned him the Consensus Player of the Year Award. After his dominant performance, it was no question that the former Tar Heel was ready to take on the NBA.
