The UNC basketball commit is among the 12 players selected to represent the United States on the U19 national team this summer.

Ian Jackson has made the team!

Jackson was one of 12 players to be selected to the USA men’s 19U national team, as he is one of just four high schoolers to make the cut. The UNC basketball commit and Team USA are scheduled to compete in the 2023 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary this summer.

The Bronx, New York native is no stranger to competing for his country, as this is the third consecutive year in which he’s been selected to a Team USA squad. As he prepares for his senior year of high school, Jackson will look to gain valuable experience overseas to add to his resume before eventually heading to Chapel Hill next summer.

Jackson headlines a very talented three-player recruiting class that Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program have put together. Even with Elliot Cadeau reclassifying, the Tar Heels are still considered by many to have the best 2024 recruiting class, as they even have more room if they elect to add more talent to it.

UNC basketball fans can keep an eye out for Ian Jackson this summer as he represents the United States in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
