With teams officially allowed to contact Class of 2025 prospects, the UNC basketball program wasted no time contacting some top talents.

The clock struck midnight to ring in June 15, a day that is very important for college basketball programs across the country.

This day is the one when coaches can begin to contact rising juniors, in this case, the Class of 2025. Once midnight hit, schools began to call the prospects that they highly covet among this talented class.

For Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, it was expected that they would be in touch with some of the players that they’ve already extended scholarship offers too. However, a surprise name that hasn’t been connected to the Tar Heels is among the players that they’ve already spoken too.

Four-star in-state product Sadiq White has heard from a handful of teams, including the UNC basketball program. White is a 6-foot-8 forward from Myers Park, North Carolina.

The rising junior is one of the top-ranked players in his class, as 247Sports tabs him as the No. 20 overall prospect. He is also regarded as the top player coming out of North Carolina, which makes even more sense why the Tar Heels are actively trying to keep one of the best in-state products close to home.

With the contact period opening up, you’re going to learn a lot about how the UNC basketball program plans on attacking this recruiting cycle. Expect Hubert Davis and company to heavily pursue some of the top talents available, including Sadiq White.
