UNC Basketball: Cam Johnson to play for Team USA
Former UNC basketball standout Cameron Johnson has a big summer ahead, as he’s added some competitive basketball to his schedule.
It’s a very big summer for former UNC basketball standout Cameron Johnson.
The current Brooklyn Net is a restricted free agent this offseason, as he’s expected to have plenty of suitors once he officially becomes available.
With his future in question, Johnson has committed to play some basketball this summer, as he’s set to join Team USA for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Johnson will represent his country alongside current teammate Mikal Bridges. The duo will look to help Team USA capture a FIBA World Cup title during this year’s event in the Philippines.
It was a rather crazy season for Johnson, who was traded from the Phoenix Suns as part of the megadeal that shipped NBA star Kevin Durant out of Brooklyn. The former Tar Heel took advantage of his new opportunity, averaging 16.6 points per game as a starter for the Nets organization.
This is a great opportunity for Johnson, who will have the opportunity to represent the United States in this notable competition. It’s safe to say that we’ll be hearing a lot about the former UNC basketball standout throughout the upcoming summer months.
