Armando Bacot had quite the way to describe former teammate Caleb Love’s departure from the UNC basketball program this offseason.

One of the major storylines surrounding the UNC basketball program this offseason was the departure of Caleb Love.

The rising senior entered the transfer portal and originally committed to Michigan, but an issue with academic credits transferring over led him to re-open his recruitment. After sorting through his options, Love will now be heading to Arizona to complete his college career.

As part of his new NIL deal with Frosted Flakes cereal, Armando Bacot made an appearance at a Food Lion store in Pittsboro, North Carolina. At the event, Bacot took some time to speak to Adam Smith of Inside Carolina, as the topic of Love’s departure came into the conversation.

"“He just left I want to say like a week or two ago, so we saw him all the time. He was still in the gym all the time, working out, all that. Still lifting and doing everything with the team."

Bacot confirmed that he (and his UNC basketball teammates) didn’t lose contact with Love, as he was still around the team leading up to him recently leaving Chapel Hill.  He went on to add that he’ll always have a bond with Love that’s “unmistakable and everlasting.”

And then, he dropped this all-time quote to describe his relationship with Love:

"“Caleb, that’s my guy. He’s one of those guys I would say that’ll be Carolina forever, for sure. It’s one of those things where like, yeah, it was a divorce. But I mean, we still love him. We’ve got kids together.”"

What a way to describe their relationship, as UNC Barstool helped the cause by displaying a family photo on Twitter.

Regardless of where they are playing basketball this season, it’s safe to say that the bond between Armando Bacot and Caleb Love will always be strong. Although they aren’t teammates anymore, that doesn’t change the relationship that the two built during their time together in Chapel Hill.
