UNC Basketball Recruiting: Cayden Boozer talks Tar Heels
Four-star guard Cayden Boozer recently discussed his scholarship offer from the UNC basketball recruiting team and his current recruitment.
The UNC basketball recruiting team made major headlines when they extended scholarship offers to Cameron and Cayden Boozer, the sons of former Duke star and NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.
We recently heard what Cameron, a five-star forward who is widely regarded as one of, if not the top player, in the Class of 2025, had to say about the offer.
Now, it’s time to hear what Cayden thinks about his UNC basketball offer.
The four-star guard, ranked in the top 30 nationally by 247Sports, recently broke down his current recruitment with Jamie Shaw of On3. Boozer went in-depth about the Tar Heels and even provided an update about what his father thought of the offer:
"“It was great getting that offer. I mean, obviously, they are a big one. They’ve won a lot of national championships, and they have produced a lot of good guards. Hubert Davis seems like a really good guy. We just have to keep working on that relationship; we’ve only talked once so far. They are a call I’m looking forward to getting on June 15.I didn’t really watch a lot of them this season because I was watching more of the schools who have already offered, but I’m definitely going to watch them a lot more now that they’re recruiting me. My dad was really excited for us to get that offer. He wants us to have our own route and to make our own path. Us getting offers is a great thing for us, and he is really supportive even though he is Duke blood. But he wants us to pick what school is best for each of us.”"
Although some may say that it’s unlikely that the Boozer twins will end up in Chapel Hill, the UNC basketball recruiting team is still making an effort to see if they can convince them to play for the other side of the rivalry.
Based on their recent comments, it appears as if both brothers are at least willing to listen to what Hubert Davis and company have to offer.
