Courtney Banghart and the UNC women’s basketball program have earned a commitment from one of the top players in the Class of 2024.

Another day, another big-time addition to the UNC women’s basketball program.

Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels continue to thrive on the recruiting trail as five-star Blanca Thomas announced her commitment to the program. Thomas currently ranks as the No. 10 overall prospect in the Class of 2024.

Thomas, a 6-foot-5 center, chose North Carolina over the likes of Tennessee, South Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Louisville, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Duke. The Charlotte Catholic star elected to stay close to home, as she’s now set to join the UNC women’s basketball program.

The Tar Heels have a very talented recruiting class making their way to Chapel Hill this summer, and Thomas’ addition, along with the prior commitment of four-star Jordan Zubich, adds to the excitement of what the finalized Class of 2024 could eventually look like.

It’s safe to say that Banghart and the Tar Heels are far from done on the recruiting trail, but Thomas’ addition is a huge one for the future of the UNC women’s basketball program.

If you haven’t done so already, start taking note of the UNC women’s basketball program. Banghart is building something very special in Chapel Hill.
