The All-ACC teams were announced on Monday, as a few UNC baseball standouts were among the players recognized for their productive seasons.
Four UNC baseball standouts took home conference honors on Monday for their regular season achievements during the 2023 season.
Among the honorees were Mac Horvath and Jackson Van De Brake, both of whom were named Second-Team All-ACC selections.
Congratulations to Mac and Jackson on being named second-team All-ACC.

Horvath, who was nominated as an outfielder, could make a very strong case for being the biggest “snub” in regard to not making this year’s first-team. The junior from Rochester, Minnesota had a tremendous season in which he became the first 20-20-20 ACC player of this century, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in Division I baseball since 2011. To add to that, Hovath also ranked among the top five in five different offensive categories.
In his first season with the Diamond Heels, Van De Brake became a steady presence in the Tar Heels lineup. He led all ACC second basemen in hits, as he posted a .323 average with eight home runs and 45 runs batted in over 52 games played.
Not only did this duo earn All-ACC honors, but Vance Honeycutt did as well. The sophomore centerfielder was a third-team selection and became the first UNC baseball player to earn the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Additionally, Casey Cook was named to the All-ACC freshman team following his strong first season in Chapel Hill.
Congratulations to Casey on being named to the All-ACC Freshman Team!

If the UNC baseball program has any hopes of a long postseason run over the next few weeks, it’s safe to say that these four student-athletes will play a rather large role in just how far the Tar Heels end up going.
