According to reports, NFL scouts seem to already be salivating over the possibility of drafting UNC football’s star quarterback Drake Maye.
There are two quarterbacks that are projected to sit atop next year’s NFL Draft, and one just happens to call Chapel Hill his home.
It’s no secret that UNC football standout Drake Maye is considered one of the best prospects available. Most have Caleb Williams of USC as the top overall quarterback, but it’s safe to say that Maye is not far behind.
In fact, Maye has drawn a ton of praise, as he reportedly has NFL scouts comparing him to one of the league’s young star quarterbacks.
Multiple NFL scouts reportedly believe Drake Maye already has “shades” of Justin Herbert to his game.

Many scouts also already believe Maye doesn’t make it out of the “Top-5” in next year’s NFL Draft.

According to NFL Rookie Watch, scouts believe that Maye has “shades” of Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. There are also said to be many scouts who believe that the Tar Heels signal-caller is destined to be selected within the top 5 in next year’s NFL Draft.
As pointed out by Great Day Tar Heel on Twitter, the physical traits of Maye are almost identical to Herbert.

Maye showed in his first season as the UNC football program’s starter that he is the real deal, as he’s received plenty of high praise from various scouts.
Being compared to a player like Herbert goes along with this very high praise, as there are plenty of people around the NFL that believe that Maye has the potential to be a successful quarterback on Sundays once his time in Chapel Hill comes to a close.
