More UNC basketball 2023-2024 schedule information has been released, as details for the 2023 CBS Sports Classic are now available.
UPDATE: Wednesday, May 3:
After initial reports stated that the UNC basketball program would take on UCLA in this year’s CBS Sports Classic, two sources (both of which are heavily involved with the program) stated otherwise:
Atlanta: yes.

UCLA: not so fast. https://t.co/RtiVJRoRAC
Adam Lucas got the ball rolling with the above tweet, leading to the likelihood that the UNC basketball program would match up with Kentucky. Given that Ohio State was the matchup last season, it was very unlikely that the two would square off in consecutive seasons.

As we look forward to next season’s event, we learned some new information that Tar Heels fans can add to their calendars.
The CBS Sports Classic will be played in Atlanta on December 16th, per multiple sources. This will be the 10th Anniversary of the event and it will be played in Atlanta for the first time.

Matchups are:
- Kentucky vs. Ohio State
- UCLA vs. North Carolina#CollegeHoops
The 10th annual CBS Sports Classic will be played on December 16, 2023. It will be held in Atlanta, as Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are slated to take on the UCLA Bruins.
North Carolina and UCLA were originally scheduled to match up in 2021, but the Bruins had to back out due to COVID-19 issues with their team. The Tar Heels are 2-0 against UCLA in this event, with their last win coming in 74-64 fashion on December 21, 2019, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Although we’re still a few months away from the start of the 2023-2024 season, expect more schedule information to come our way over the next couple of weeks.
