UNC Basketball Recruiting target eyeing Chapel Hill visit
In UNC basketball recruiting news, a five-star prospect is aiming to make a visit to Chapel Hill after receiving an offer from the Tar Heels.
Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball recruiting team have been paying close attention to Class of 2025 five-star Darryn Peterson.
Ranked as one of the top players in his graduating class, the Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio native picked up an offer from North Carolina last week. The Tar Heels aren’t alone in the mix, as many programs nationwide are expressing interest in the 6-foot-5 shooting guard.
After a dominant 46-point performance on Saturday at the Adidas 3SSB, Peterson caught up with Travis Graf of Made Hoops to provide an update on his recruitment:
Peterson stated that he hopes to make a trio of visits in what he says in the “very near future.” A visit to Chapel Hill is included in that mix, as Peterson is currently eyeing visits to North Carolina, Kansas, and Kentucky.
It’s great to see Peterson expressing early interest in the Tar Heels, as he spoke about the program’s offer with Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports:
"“I got that offer during Chapter I and that was big. They talked to my dad. It was a great feeling but I have to stay focused. They like to play in the screen and roll game. They also breed one and dones.”"
Still only a sophomore, Peterson’s recruitment seems to be picking up some steam. We probably have a long ways to go before a final decision is made, but for the moment, the UNC basketball recruiting team seems to be in a good position.
