UNC basketball Class of 2023 recruiting target Brady Dunlap has delayed his official visit to Chapel Hill by a week and into the month of May.

Class of 2023 three-star prospect Brady Dunlap was originally scheduled to make a visit to Chapel Hill with the UNC basketball program this weekend on Sunday, April 30th.

However, as first reported by Sherrell McMillan with InsideCarolina, that visit has now been postponed until next weekend, May 7th.

In place of his official visit to Carolina this weekend, Dunlap will be visiting Penn State, where former Tar Heel Puff Johnson just committed. The former Notre Dame commit picked up an offer from the Tar Heels two weeks ago as they looked to replace several key pieces. He has also already taken an official visit to Nebraska.

Shortly after receiving an offer from Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, Dunlap released his top five schools. Penn State was in his original top five, so it makes sense that he is visiting State College. However, the timing of delaying his visit to UNC is certainly interesting with it coming just days after the Tar Heels received commitments from former Notre Dame guard Cormac Ryan and former Stanford forward Harrison Ingram.

Since UNC offered Dunlap, we haven’t heard much regarding his recruitment and now with only two scholarship spots remaining and multiple speculations about possible reclassifications from the class of 2024, there is definitely a debate about how much playing time and spots are left for the 2023-2024 roster. That could certainly be having an impact on Dunlap and his decision-making process.
