UNC Football: Jaiden Patterson commits to North Carolina
Mack Brown and the UNC football program have added another player to its 2024 recruiting class, as Jaiden Patterson is set to join the Tar Heels.
On Saturday, Class of 2024 athlete Jaiden Patterson announced that he’ll be committing to the UNC football program.
Patterson becomes the 11th player to join the program’s 2024 recruiting class, as he’ll join his current teammate Aidan Banfield on the list of future Tar Heels.
His commitment comes just a week after he was on hand to witness the Tar Heels’ spring game, as that trip to campus helped solidify his decision. Patterson also considered three other finalists (Duke, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest) before committing to the UNC football program.
Currently, the Hoschton, Georgia native is not ranked by 247Sports. However, Patterson has the makings of being a potential versatile player for North Carolina, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
As a junior, Patterson helped lead Mill Creek High School to the GHSA-7A state title. Individually, he finished the season with 55 total tackles, 13 pass deflections, and three fumble recoveries.
He was also a lethal weapon on special teams, as he returned two kick returns for touchdowns while also blocking four field goal attempts.
Although he’s listed as an athlete, Patterson will most likely play secondary/special teams for the UNC football program. He has split time between corner and safety during his high school career, as Mack Brown and company will be able to determine which position suits him best at the next level.
