Former UNC basketball standout Kenny “The Jet” Smith had some very high praise for one of the Tar Heels’ current Class of 2024 commits.

On TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA’ one former UNC basketball standout showed some love to one of the program’s future stars.

While discussing “winning basketball plays,” Kenny “The Jet” Smith brought up an experience he had watching a summer league game with Hubert Davis. The focus of the story was Class of 2024 commit Elliot Cadeau, who impressed the former Tar Heel without even scoring the basketball.

"“I was sitting with Hubert Davis one time, head coach of North Carolina, at a summer league game. We saw a kid play, I think his name is Elliot Cadeau. We were watching him play, and he didn’t score a point. After four minutes, we were like, “Oh, he’s the best player on the floor.”  He didn’t score a point, but was making winning plays.”"

Tar Heel fans are already excited about his eventual arrival on campus, but the hype around Cadeau seems to be building by the day. Even as a highly-touted five-star player, Cadeau is not always focused on scoring the basketball, as he’s constantly making winning plays to help his team.

Whether he stays in the Class of 2024 or decides that he wants to head to Chapel Hill a season early, it seems like the UNC basketball program is on the verge of landing a very special player.
