Former Notre Dame commit Brady Dunlap has narrowed his recruitment down to five schools. Is the UNC basketball program one of them?

Early on Thursday, we found out that the UNC basketball program extended an offer to four-star wing Brady Dunlap. The Class of 2023 prospect originally committed to Notre Dame, but re-opened his recruitment when Mike Brey stepped down as the leader of the program.

Just a few hours later, Dunlap announced his top five schools, a list that includes North Carolina.

The Studio City, California native, and the No. 86 overall prospect in the Class of 2023 (according to On3) is considering North Carolina, Nebraska, Penn State, St. John’s, and Villanova as his finalists. Before he makes his final decision, Dunlap is expected to visit each campus, with his stop to Chapel Hill coming on April 30.

Here’s what Dunlap had to say about the UNC basketball program:

"“Coach Davis reached out to me and offered me a scholarship after a great talk over the phone. He and the staff have watched a lot of film on me and know my game well. Growing up in North Carolina I know all about the history of the program and it is very intriguing. April 30 visit date.”"

The Tar Heels desperately need some shooters, as Dunlap could help improve the team in this area. With multiple roster spots to work with, will this prospect join the likes of Simeon Wilcher and Zayden High among the UNC basketball program’s 2023 recruiting class?
