UNC Basketball: Paxson Wojcik transfers to North Carolina
The UNC basketball program has landed a graduate transfer, as former Brown guard Paxson Wojcik has committed to North Carolina.
Let the roster reformation begin!
Just hours after losing Caleb Love to the transfer portal, Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program earned a commitment from Brown graduate transfer Paxson Wojcik. His decision comes shortly after his official visit to Chapel Hill over the past weekend.
The Charleston, South Carolina native began his college career at Loyola-Chicago before transferring to Brown. He’s coming off a season in which he averaged 14.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
He’s a known shooter, as he shot 46 percent from the floor and 38 percent from beyond the arc. His ability to shoot the basketball should help a Tar Heels team that struggled mightily from deep during the 2022-2023 season.
Before committing to North Carolina, Wojcik drew interest from the likes of Kansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Butler. Now, he becomes the first piece of what will be a new-looking UNC basketball team heading into the upcoming season.
With plenty of roster spots available, expect to see Hubert Davis and his staff recruiting heavily via the transfer portal over the next few weeks.
