UNC basketball transfer Dontrez Styles will make an official visit to one of the Tar Heels’ in-state rivals over the next few days.

Since entering the transfer portal, there’s been plenty of speculation that former UNC basketball player Dontrez Styles will ultimately decide to stay in the state of North Carolina.

The recent reports only continue to add to that potential narrative.

Styles is expected to make a visit to NC State for an official visit over the next few days. Their high level of interest shouldn’t be surprising, given that the Wolfpack, led by Kevin Keatts, recruited the former four-star recruit very heavily out of high school.

Although it didn’t work out for Styles in Chapel Hill, no one wants to see him land with another ACC program, especially NC State. It would be a tough pill to swallow if Styles is able to resurrect his college basketball career with one of the Tar Heels’ biggest in-state rivals.

As the old saying goes, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” At this point, it would be safe to say that the Wolfpack are among the favorites to land a commitment from Styles. Fans of the UNC basketball program will still try to hold on to hope that he finds a new home that is outside of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
