On Tuesday morning, UNC Basketball star big man Armando Bacot was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press.

Add another honor to Armando Bacot’s already impressive resume.

The UNC basketball standout has been named by the Associated Press as a third-team All-American. Bacot is not only the only ACC player to make the cut, but is also the only player whose team didn’t make the NCAA Tournament field.

During his senior season, Bacot averaged 15.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 blocks while averaging 30.3 minutes per game. He ended the 2022-2023 season shooting 55.4% from the floor.

Even while dealing with various injuries, Bacot continued to be a dominant force for the UNC basketball program. Although his overall numbers took a slight dip, the Richmond, Virginia native still averaged a double-double, which is a very impressive feat.

Bacot re-wrote the record books, as he is now in sole possession of the UNC basketball program’s rebounding and career double-doubles records. With a potential year of eligibility remaining, Bacot could elect to return to add to his North Carolina basketball legacy.
