UNC Basketball: Trentyn Flowers sets commitment date

The five-star wing is set to announce his commitment this month, as the UNC basketball program is among his list of finalists.

Class of 2024 five-star Trentyn Flowers is set to make his college decision.

Flowers will make his announcement on Friday, March 17. The Charlotte, North Carolina native is down to six options, including the UNC basketball program.

At this point in time, 247Sports does not have any Crystal Ball Predictions for the 6-foot-8, 210-pound wing. According to On3, Louisville seems to have the upper hand, as Jamie Shaw has put in a prediction in favor of the Cardinals. Creighton also seems to be heavily involved in this recruitment, as they could be considered among the favorites at this point.

Given the four-player 2024 class that North Carolina currently possesses, Flowers doesn’t seem like a legitimate option to join the Tar Heels. However, things could get interesting if he decides to reclass, as it may make the UNC basketball a more viable option for the talented wing.

The speculation will continue up until his official announcement, and there has been no indication that the Tar Heels are “out” in the Flowers sweepstakes. Given the recent recruiting success of the UNC basketball program, it wouldn’t be wise to rule them out of the mix just yet.
