UNC Basketball: Armando Bacot named to Oscar Robertson Trophy late season watch list

UNC basketball star big man Armando Bacot is among the 15 players named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy late-season watch list. 

On Thursday, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced its list of 15 players for its 2022-23 Oscar Robertson Trophy Late Season Watch List.

Armando Bacot of the UNC basketball program is the only ACC representative on the list, as the award is presented annually to the most outstanding men’s college basketball player.

The senior big man from Richmond, Virginia has been a workhorse for the Tar Heels, as he’s put together a historical senior season. He re-wrote the record books, as he is now the program’s leader in career double-doubles and rebounds.

Bacot currently is second on the Tar Heels in scoring and leads the team in rebounds per game. He has led North Carolina to 19 victories on the season and hopes to add a few more before it is all said and done.

Here is the official list of 15 student-athletes who have been named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Late Season Watch List for the 2022-2023 men’s college basketball season:

Bacot and the UNC basketball program will wrap up the regular season on Saturday night at home as they host rival Duke.
