After a big win against Boston College on Sunday afternoon, the UNC women’s basketball program received some great news on the recruiting front.

Jordan Zubich’s dream is officially becoming a reality.

On Sunday, the Class of 2024 guard announced her college decision during a ceremony at Mountain Iron Buhl High School in Minnesota, as she confirmed that she will be committing to the UNC women’s basketball program.

Of course, with the first name ‘Jordan’ and a middle name of ‘Carolina,’ it’s no secret that her family are die-hard Tar Heels fans. Throughout her recruitment process, it was evident that Zubich wanted to represent the school her family has grown to love, as North Carolina was the only school that she took both unofficial and official visits to.

"“Obviously, it’s been my dream for a long time (to play at UNC). My middle name is ‘Carolina.’ I think there was kind of a thought throughout my recruiting process that everyone knew it was my dream school. But, it was never a situation where I was going to get an offer and sign right away. Sometimes going to the right place for you means you don’t go to your dream school. I got lucky that UNC is both.”"

Zubich chose North Carolina over fellow finalists Utah, Creighton, Ohio State, Minnesota, and Nebraska. The process actually moved rather quickly for the 5-foot-11 guard, as her unofficial visit occurred in November, followed by her receiving her scholarship offer in December and thus making an official visit during the month of January. Shortly after, Zubich made it known that she was going to become a Tar Heel.

With her commitment, the Tar Heels add a lethal scoring threat to their 2024 recruiting class. During her junior season of high school, the future Tar Heel is averaging a staggering 28.8 points per game, as her three-point shooting ability is known to be her best skill on the basketball court.

It’s also very important to note that she’s been playing varsity basketball since eighth grade!

This is a huge addition to the UNC women’s basketball program, as the connection Zubich made with head coach Courtney Banghart seemed to play a big role in her commitment.

Now with the decision out of the way, we can officially say that Jordan Zubich will be joining her dream school in Chapel Hill in the near future.

"“It’s so exciting because we grew up watching them (UNC) compete for national championships. You can’t really beat Carolina blue. It’s the best color.”"
