Find out which former UNC football standouts have been invited to participate in the 2023 NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis.

This week, the NFL released a list of 319 players who have been invited to participate in the 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Combine, which will take place in Indianapolis from February 28 through March 6.

The UNC football program had four players invited to this year’s event, the most of any school in the state of North Carolina. Additionally, the Tar Heels rank as the program with the fourth-most invitees in the ACC, trailing Clemson (eight), Pittsburgh (six), and Louisville (five).

So, which former Tar Heels have earned a spot in this year’s NFL Draft Scouting Combine? Let’s take a look!

Josh Downs

Downs will go down as one of the most decorated wide receivers in UNC football history.

The dynamic playmaker has the potential of being a first-round pick in this year’s draft, as many early mock drafts have him being selected in the early to mid-20s.

There are a few teams that Downs could truly make an impact for, especially some of the teams picking in that area that are built to win now.

Antoine Green

Green may not go as high as Downs in the draft, but his value in the mid-rounds could be a steal for teams in need of a talented wide receiver.

After competing in the Shrine Bowl, the former Tar Heel was said to have helped his draft stock after a strong performance. Even after missing five games due to injury, Green was still a very lethal weapon within the Tar Heels offense when he was on the field.

Asim Richards

Richards was a three-year starter for the Tar Heels, as he elected to forgo his final season of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft. He was one of the team’s best-rated linemen and could be a reliable option for a team looking for some offensive line depth.

Noah Taylor

After transferring from Virginia, Taylor quickly became one of the Tar Heels’ best defensive players.

As a pass rusher, Taylor was a steady force, recording 28 total tackles. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a knee injury, and his absence was certainly felt over the team’s final stretch of games without him.
