For her efforts over the past week, UNC women’s basketball freshman guard Paulina Paris has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week.

What a week it was for Paulina Paris!

After two strong performances for the UNC women’s basketball program, Paris has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week. She finished the week averaging 13.5 points per game over the Tar Heels’ two victories. Paris shot the ball extremely well over the week, as she shot just under 43 percent from the floor.

Her best outing of the week came on Sunday in her first collegiate start. She posted career-highs in points (22) and three-pointers made (6) in North Carolina’s road win over Clemson.

As the only true freshman on an experienced roster, Paris continues to earn her spot in the Tar Heels’ regular rotation. She’s been a key factor in a reserve role but showed on Sunday that she’s more than capable of being a starter for this program in the future.

Winners of their last seven games, the No. 15-ranked UNC women’s basketball program will look to continue the streak on Thursday as they host Virginia.
