On the day before classes start in Chapel Hill, there’s some important North Carolina Tar Heels news and notes to discuss!

If you watched the UNC men’s basketball program on Saturday afternoon, it’s certain that you noticed that there was plenty of student support at the Dean Smith Center.

With the new semester set to kick off on Monday, students rolled in to see the North Carolina Tar Heels dominate Notre Dame.

After the big win on Saturday, North Carolina still has work to do against the Fighting Irish this weekend. Before we get to that, let’s take a minute to appreciate the fact that Caleb Love is back.

Caleb Love is Back

UNC basketball junior Caleb Love took a lot of criticism for his performances against Pittsburgh and Wake Forest.

Of course, we all know what type of player Love is, but his struggles over the two-game span were very concerning. However, the junior guard from St. Louis, Missouri took a big step in the right direction, putting together a strong performance against the Fighting Irish.

Love got the game started with a wide-open three, and I don’t know about you, but at that point, I felt very confident about the Tar Heels’ chances.

Over 38 minutes of action, Love recorded 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. He didn’t force shots as much as he’s had over the previous few games, as he let the game come to him and made some really good decisions.

Remember- the Tar Heels NEED Love to be the Caleb Love we know he can be. Hopefully, this gets him going as ACC play starts to heat up.

A Message from the Queen

We were tagged in a tweet from the one, the only, Miss Deja Kelly, on Saturday, and even though we shared it on our feeds, we wanted to take a moment to share it here as well.

If you are in the North Carolina area, we are calling for you to be at Carmichael Arena for the UNC women’s basketball game against No. 4-ranked Notre Dame.

The crowd can play a HUGE factor in the game, as Tar Heels nation should go and show their support! Be loud, be supportive, and help the Tar Heels capture a major upset to cap off the weekend!

Roy Williams did WHAT?!

We all know Roy Williams is truly enjoying retirement. It is even at the point that he, and his lovely wife Wanda, are joining in on some pregame festivities!

Prior to Saturday’s tip-off, the Williams family was seen taking part in the traditional pregame Swag Surfin’.

There’s no debate: Roy Williams is a living legend (in case you already didn’t know!).
