UNC Women’s Basketball returns to Sweet 16

The UNC men’s basketball program draws a ton of attention, and rightly so, but it’s time that people start recognizing the job that Courtney Banghart is doing with the UNC women’s basketball program.

For the first time in seven seasons, the Tar Heels returned to the Sweet 16. They did so in dominating fashion, as they stifled Arizona’s offense en route to a 63-45 victory in the Round of 32.

With a majority of the main pieces returning this season, the Tar Heels have aspirations of going even further in 2023. Currently ranked as a top 25 program, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see them accomplish that goal.

Take note of what Banghart and the UNC women’s basketball program are doing, they are on the verge of something very special.
