Brady Manek- The Missing Piece

When Hubert Davis took over as the UNC basketball program’s head coach, he wasted no time hitting the transfer portal to bring in some extra talent.

One of the players he secured a commitment from was Brady Manek, a transfer from Oklahoma. With one season of college eligibility remaining, Manek was looking for an opportunity to compete for a national championship.

Little did we know at the time of his commitment, Manek would certainly make the very most of his short time in Chapel Hill.

Manek became an integral piece to the “Iron Five,” as he helped lead the program back to the national championship game. Along with his strong production on the court, Manek instantly became a favorite of his teammates and the fanbase, as his TikToks that he created during the NCAA Tournament showed just how close-knit he became with his fellow teammates.

When Manek is mentioned (or shown on the video screen) at the Dean Smith Center, the crowd simply erupts. For a guy who only spent a few months in Chapel Hill, it’s amazing to see what an impact he made on the program in such a short span of time.
