The UNC Basketball program ends Coach K’s career in Final Four

With everything that the University of North Carolina accomplished in 2022, there’s no doubt that the Tar Heels Final Four victory over Duke is the moment that stands alone in the minds of UNC basketball fans around the world.

When North Carolina spoiled Coach K’s final home game at Duke, no one thought the two programs would match up once again. It was true destiny, as both programs never matched up in the NCAA Tournament prior to this year.

Of course, it couldn’t have been scripted better. North Carolina against Duke in the Final Four. The winner gets a spot in the National Championship game, while the loser has to hear about the loss for years to come from the opposing fan base.

North Carolina provided one last retirement present for Coach K, as they ended his career with their victory in the Final Four.

The above photo of Caleb Love draining a three-pointer over Duke big man Mark Williams is one that already is featured all over the place. It’s an image that we’re certain you’ll see for many, many years to come.

Even though the Tar Heels ultimately fell short in the title game against Kansas, North Carolina’s run to the Final Four, and this major win over Duke, is what will always be remembered.

In what will go down as the biggest matchup in the history of this rivalry, it was the UNC basketball program that came out on top.

The North Carolina Tar Heels provided us all with some special memories during the 2022 calendar year. I’m sure we are all excited to see what’s in store for 2023!
