On Christmas Day, one of the UNC football program’s top in-state targets narrowed his recruitment down, as he announced his top 10 list.

Mack Brown and the UNC football program received some positive news on Christmas Day, as one of their top in-state recruiting targets announced his top 10 list.

Alex Taylor, a four-star wide receiver prospect from Greensboro, North Carolina, included the Tar Heels among his top 10. Although he states his recruitment is still open, this is a very good sign for the UNC football program.

Taylor’s list is very ACC-friendly, as five of the 10 listed come from this conference. Along with the Tar Heels, Clemson, NC State, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest also made the cut.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound wide receiver is currently ranked by 247Sports as the No. 132 ranked player in the Class of 2024. He is regarded as the No. 5 ranked player in his recruiting class from the state of North Carolina.

North Carolina jumped into the mix for Taylor a few months back, as they extended an official offer to him on May 3. Although he hasn’t made an official visit to campus yet, it is expected that he will before his recruitment comes to a close.

Brown and company would love to keep this in-state product home, as he could be next in line of impressive wide receivers to come through Chapel Hill. There’s still plenty of time in his recruitment, but it’s definitely a good sign that the UNC football program is still very much in the mix.
