The UNC women’s basketball program took care of business on Friday night, as they defeated USC Upstate in blowout fashion.

It was another strong outing for the UNC women’s basketball program on Friday night, as they defeated USC Upstate in blowout fashion at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Courtney Banghart’s team, now ranked No. 7 in the country, shot an astounding 60.7 percent from the floor en route to its 42-point victory.

Once again, we saw Banghart go deep into her bench, as 9 different players saw at least 10 minutes of action. Junior guard Deja Kelly led the Tar Heels with a game-high 20 points, as she knocked down eight of her 11 shot attempts.

Eva Hodgson continued to be an offensive presence, scoring 16 points in this contest. Freshman guard Paulina Paris arguably had her best performance of the young season, as she knocked down six of her 9 shot attempts to finish the night with 15 points over 21 minutes of work.

Even though they dominated throughout, there’s always room for improvement. North Carolina turned the ball over 21 times, as they’ll need to take better care of the basketball.

The UNC women’s basketball program was expected to dominate in this one, as they came in as. 51.5-point favorite. They did just that, as they were very efficient offensively while also playing strong defense on the other end of the floor.

North Carolina will have the weekend to prepare for the upcoming Jumpman Invitation, as they’ll take on Michigan on Tuesday night in Charlotte, North Carolina. This will be the Tar Heels’ last game before a nine-day break, and will also wrap up non-conference play.]
