Just a few days after entering the transfer portal, former UNC football quarterback Jacolby Criswell has found a new home.

On December 4, quarterback Jacolby Criswell announced his intention to leave the UNC football program by entering the transfer portal.

Not even a week later, Criswell has decided on a new home, one that is closer in proximity to his actual home.

Criswell tweeted the above message, stating that he was excited to be playing in his home state next season. If you’re not familiar with the former Tar Heel, knowing that he is a Morrilton, Arkansas native will definitely help you figure out where he’s heading.

During an official visit to the campus, Criswell committed to the University of Arkansas. He becomes the second transfer to commit to the program since the portal opened not even a week ago.

As a former four-star recruit, Criswell was offered by Arkansas during his original recruitment. However, the Hogs went in a different direction, as they elected to go with Chandler Morris, who was the son of former coach Chad Morris.

Criswell took his talents to Chapel Hill but unfortunately did not see much playing time. He served as a backup for two prominent players you’ve probably heard of: Sam Howell and Drake Maye.

In his short recruitment as a transfer, Criswell narrowed his choices down to two options. The first was obviously Arkansas, and the second, none other than the Wisconsin Badgers.

Yes, the same Wisconsin program that just hired former UNC football offensive coordinator Phil Longo for the same position. The Badgers were set to host Criswell on an official visit next weekend, but that won’t happen with this decision.

Criswell will head back to his home state in hopes of earning a chance to play. Once he hits the field, we’ll get to see just what the talented signal-caller is capable of.
