Heading into Saturday’s contest against Georgia Tech, the UNC basketball program hopes that Armando Bacot can return from injury.

One of the big storylines heading into the UNC basketball program’s second ACC contest of the season revolves around star big man Armando Bacot.

The senior missed last Sunday’s game at Virginia Tech due to an AC sprain in his right shoulder. Due to finals week in Chapel Hill, Bacot had some extra time to rest, as the Tar Heels did not have a game since then.

With under 24 hours away from tip-off, the question remains: will Bacot be healthy enough to play?

According to Hubert Davis, Bacot seems to be trending in the right direction.

Davis said that his senior big man practiced for the first time on Thursday on a limited basis, and was scheduled to get more reps during Friday’s practice session. He added that Bacot is “trending upward,” and should be able to play on Saturday as the Tar Heels host Georgia Tech.

This could be very good news for the UNC basketball program, as they look to end its current four-game skid. The Tar Heels need Bacot back and healthy, as their schedule will once again heat up as they have four games over an 11-day span.

Along with the possibility of Bacot returning to action, Davis went on to say that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if talented freshman big man Jalen Washington makes his Tar Heels debut on Saturday. Having both players back would certainly be a major boost for the UNC basketball program, as they look to get back on track.
