Drake Maye of the UNC football program has earned a handful of conference honors, including the ACC Player of the Year Award.

What a season it has been for UNC football standout Drake Maye.

Taking over the reins of the Tar Heels’ offense, the redshirt freshman burst onto the scene right away. He quickly became one of the nation’s best signal-callers, playing a major role in North Carolina’s capturing of the ACC Coastal Division title.

During the 2022 season, Maye threw for 3,845 yards and 35 touchdowns through the air. He was also a lethal threat on the ground, as he rushed for 629 yards and an additional six scores.

To honor his stellar season, Maye has been named the ACC Player of the Year.

Not only is Maye the ACC Player of the year, but also was named the conference’s Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year as well as the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Maye has clearly been the top quarterback in the conference all season long and has played himself into the conversation of being regarded as one of the best players in the entire country.

With the regular season officially closed, UNC football fans hope that Maye and the Tar Heels have a few strong weeks of football left in them. They also hope that by the end of the week, the UNC football program will be the 2022 ACC Champions.
