Erin Matson

There was no debate for this one: Erin Matson was a lock to receive an invite this year.

Why? As the late Stuart Scott would say, “Erin Matson is as cool as the other side of the pillow!”

Matson just wrapped up her UNC Field Hockey career in style, scoring the game-winning goal to capture her fourth, yes, FOURTH national championship. She ends her illustrious career as a five-time ACC Champion, five-time ACC Player of the Year, and also was awarded three National Player of the Year awards.

Not only will she go down as an absolute legend in Chapel Hill, but legitimately has put herself in the conversation as one of (if not the) greatest field hockey player in NCAA history.

With all this in mind, Matson is a must at my Thanksgiving dinner. I would love to be able to hear about her journey and what she has planned after her time in Chapel Hill comes to an end.
