The UNC Football program announced that they will be without one of their top defensive players for the remainder of the 2022 season.

Early in the UNC football program’s victory over Pittsburgh, linebacker Noah Taylor suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

On Monday, Mack Brown confirmed that the injury was, in fact, of serious nature.

Taylor will miss the remainder of the 2022 season due to the knee injury. This is a major blow for the Tar Heels defense, as Taylor currently is the team’s sack leader.

In his first season as a Tar Heel, Taylor recorded 28 tackles and 3.5 sacks over eight games played. With North Carolina scheduled to play at his former school this week, Taylor will unfortunately not be able to play.

However, Brown went on to say that Taylor will travel with the team and will serve as a team captain for the contest.

The Tar Heels will have to find a way to replace Taylor’s production, especially with the ACC Coastal Division on the line. Even though he will be tough to replace, the Tar Heels will rely on their depth to get the job done moving forward.
