After narrowing his recruitment down to 10 teams, four-star big man James Brown is excited about his upcoming visit to the UNC basketball program.

The UNC basketball program received good news a few days ago, as four-star Class of 2024 prospect James Brown included the Tar Heels among the 10 finalists in his recruitment.

As he’s set to visit Chapel Hill on October 14, the Chicago, Illinois native seems excited to make his way to North Carolina.

In a recent interview with Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers, Brown was asked about his current recruitment. Here’s what the 6-foot-9 big man had to say about the UNC basketball program:

"“North Carolina has a historic basketball program, I think it’s really cool what Hubert Davis was able to do in year one. I really enjoy talking with him and Coach Sean May and I’m excited to get down to Chapel Hill to learn more about North Carolina.”"

Brown went on to add that he isn’t considering reclassifying into the Class of 2023, as he seems intent on staying in his original graduating class. He also broke down his game, which makes sense as to why Hubert Davis and his staff have shown so much interest in him.

"“I think I bring a lot of energy on and off the court. I can do it all and I feel like I’m somebody who can come in and make an impact right away. I can do a little bit of everything shoot, dribble, pass, and finish with both hands. I’m versatile and I can play multiple positions and I like to get out and run the floor.”"

The Tar Heels’ success in Davis’ first year at the helm is a common trait that intrugues current high school basketball recruits. After seeing what a player like Brady Manek did in his lone season in Chapel Hill, you’d have to think that other versatile big men will put some strong consideration towards the UNC basketball program throughout their respective recruitment processes.
