UNC Football: Tar Heels extend offer to Class of 2024 OL
The UNC football program becomes the first Division I school to extend an offer to this in-state Class of 2024 offensive lineman.
If you Google “Desmond Jackson,” you’ll find a few people with this name that have played college football.
In this case, you have to do a little more digging to find the Desmond Jackson that recently earned a scholarship offer from the UNC football program.
Mack Brown and the Tar Heels become the first Division I program to offer Jackson, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman from Clemmons, North Carolina. If you take a closer look at his Twitter account, it appears that North Carolina, along with Appalachian State and Dartmouth, are the programs showing the most interest at this stage of his recruitment.
According to 247Sports, Jackson is not currently ranked and does not have any stars next to his name. However, that could certainly change in the near future, as it appears that this hidden talent is starting to get the recognition he deserves.
Jackson is currently playing offensive tackle for West Forsyth High School, as you can check out some of his highlights here. With plenty of time for him to continue the recruiting process, don’t be surprised if you hear more about this prospect over the next few months.
The UNC football program is making a strong effort to improve their offensive line depth, as they’ve already extended an offer to nine different Class of 2024 players at this respective position. Ultimately, the hope is that some of these players will end up calling Chapel Hill home.
